I see pretty good value in this pick. It really depends on how København approach this game but either way I see this game being pretty tight. With that being said it’ll probably end 6-3 with my current luck. Jokes aside, let’s look at why I think a low scoring game is on the cards. It’s a push if there’s 3 goals exactly.

United have been severely struggling recently and most of their recent wins have come by the way of a 1 goal margin. This attack, with the quality they have, should really be doing better than they are. But almost every single one of their front men are underperforming except for Hojlund. They’ve only put up 12 goals in the league, which is as poor as the goal records of the bottom 8. In the UCL They’ve put up more goals than their PL average but against København they just barely nabbed a 1-0 home victory in the reverse fixture. In their most recent match against Fulham, it took a great solo effort by Fernandes to secure the 3 points with a single goal.

While København have many recent games with high scores, they tend to keep them tighter against stronger opponents. They did play a 2-2 away match against Galatasaray, but against these relatively weaker opponents I was not surprised that they stepped out and went on the offensive. Against United they’ll likely have a more conservative approach, and try to hit on the counter. They actually had pretty good success against Bayern at home until Bayern eventually turned it around late in the second half. I can see the majority of this game playing out like the first half of that match, with United having crazy possession stats but failing to find the net. The thing is, I think it’s actually possible København get a result here and I was tempted to place a double chance on them, but it’s very possible this will another one of those 0-1 United victories. If United go up a goal, I also don’t see them piling on the pressure to score more, the PL season is long and they need to save energy for the weekend.

Im expecting this to be a drawn out, closely contested match. I’ll say 1-1 or 1-0 either way.
