This is a pointless rematch and one that’s been made to make Serrano look great before she takes a big fight next. In their first fight four years ago, Serrano was so close to stopping Hardy in the first round and then went on to win nearly every round against her. She found Hardy very easy to hit but Hardy was just too tough at that point to be taken out.

Since the first fight Serrano has fought eight times, winning seven and obviously losing in the great fight against Taylor. Hardy has fought three times, losing one and controversially winning the other two which were against journeywomen. In both Hardy’s last two fights she looked a shell of the fighter she was before, not saying she was anything that special but she certainly looked to have lost a lot of her ability. Her defence was next to non existent and her movement was slow and ponderous.

I think they know what they’re doing making this rematch. Serrano beat her comfortably the first time round, almost stopping her and with Hardy now being 41 and looking worse than ever in her last few fights, I think the writing is on the wall with this one. I think Serrano will take Hardy out of there and I think it’ll probably be like the first fight where Serrano gets to her early but this time Hardy won’t be able to survive the onslaught.
