It's once more a pick against Frankfurt. They’re one of the most overperforming teams in Europe. Since the World Cup break, Frankfurt is 4-2-3. However, they aren't as good as their results suggest:

It wasn't a surprise that Frankfurt won against the former dead-last Schalke and former second-to-last Hertha Berlin. However, it was surprising that they've been even outplayed by those bottom teams. But the worst and 3rd worst offense of Bundesliga couldn't do harm to Frankfurt's defense.

Frankfurt blagged 2 draws when squaring off against Bayern Munich and Freiburg. They were dominated once more in those games. They had in total just 3 shots on goal in both games. Kolo Muani made 2 goals out of it.

Frankfurt struggled against a lower-tier team in cup game, although not resting regulars.

Making it only 1 convincing game since the World Cup break, when they played against Werder Bremen.

Frankfurt lost 3 of their last 4 games. They lost clearly to Koln. They didn't stand any chance against Napoli as they got lucky to lose by just 2 goals. They took an L against RB Leipzig. However, if RB Leipzig wouldn't have gotten too passive in the 2nd half, it would have been also a clear loss for Frankfurt.

There are also some other issues for Frankfurt. A bug is going around within the team. Jakic and Kolo Muani have been sick during the week. But they're expected to play today, though. Aside from that, Kamada (Dortmund), Ndicka (possibly Barcelona), Lindstrom (various top clubs from Europe), Kolo Muani (Liverpool, Napoli, Bayern Munich, ...) are dreaming and negotiating about their bright future. For some of them, it has led to a dip in their performance, recently.

Aside from that, Frankfurt is still searching for a proper defensive line formation. Frankfurt's team manager Glasner is changing his defenders constantly. The lack of continuity affects the defense performance negatively. Frankfurt's defense is susceptible to mistakes especially against teams, which are putting them under constant pressure. Wolfsburg will be a tough challenge for them as they’re a hard-running team, which tries to intercept the build-up play from defense. Wolfsburg is 3-0-2 for their last 5 home games. Winning 6-0, 2-0 and 4-0 against Freiburg, Dortmund and Bochum. Both Ls came against the top teams Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Frankfurt has relied on a lot of luck and Kolo Muani in the past. Their most recent results are proving that this isn’t a sustainable winning strategy. Wolfsburg is a typical opponent against which Frankfurt has usually big problems. That makes backing Wolfsburg is a great value bet at massive super odds.
