Braga are third in Primeira Liga (10-1-3) and are coming off a big 3-0 win against the previously undefeated Benfica. They might have got them at a good time coming off the World Cup break but Benfica have almost been untouchable this season so far, so it’s a great win no matter what.
They now have a chance to back it up and close the gap at the top against 15th placed Santa Clara (3-4-7), who are sitting 1 point above the relegation zone. Santa Clara are on a bad run of form across league and cup competitions, and most recently lost 1-0 to a team below them.
Braga have kept a clean sheet in 4/5 of their last competitive matches, have a healthy squad to choose from, and are expected to roll out the same team that dominated Benfica. Braga have also been excellent on the road this season, with a 6-0-1 record (best in the league).
Think there’s value in the handicap markets but because I am shit and desperate for a win I will just take the ML and hope for the best.
