[Tennis- Battle of The Brits] 22.12/ 12:00 E.Silva- L.Broady

Even in her best form, Broady is a kind of player who has to work hard for winning the matches most of which go to tb’s or deciding sets. Her strategy is based on serving consistently and winning a couple of clutch points at critical moments with the help of her often misfiring single-hand backhand. Her return is almost non-existent against competent opponents. No, she is not Isner, her ranking shows that she can`t execute this plan as good as him. I can write a book on her potential and her actual tennis though. But this is another topic.

Well she lost to Barnett and then Grey with great difference. This made me to think that she is rusty a bit (might be due to post season vacation). And when she is out of shape, she becomes a prey for her opponents.

Naomi is playing against more consistent and clutch player Eden Silva today. I can`t count Eden`s any specific talents at once. She is a standard all courter, better at doubles but the level of this tournament is enough for her to make deep run-in singles as well. But I can guarantee she can hit any shot she wants which is a big plus for her. What`s more she could manage to beat Naomi Broady even when her opponent was playing decent than now back than last summer.

Therefore, I cannot see any reason for not taking Eden ML today. Broady might start strong to this match and things would certainly flip side after the midgame. Basically I am betting today against Broady”s bad form (and not expecting out-of-nowhere peak) and backing Eden`s recent consistent game.
