[Boxing- Saudi Arabia] 18.5/ 21:00 J.Opetaia- M.Briedis

The fight in a weight class close to us: cruiserweight also promises to be very interesting. And we are definitely not close to Mairis Briedis, especially after the fight with Krzysztof Głowacki where we remember the dirty game. The Latvian won 28 in his career and lost 2 close fights: against Usyk and Opetaia in Australia. There we witnessed a great fight, won slightly by the local hero by unanimous decision, but after this fight Jai Opetaia had a broken jaw. It was almost 2 years ago, in July 2022, and then the Latvian Briedis was a solid favorite. Tomorrow we will have a rematch and this time the clear favorite is... Opetaia. This is for a simple reason, firstly, Briedis is already 39 years old and secondly, the mentioned fight was his last, so he has been inactive for almost 2 years. It is difficult to assume whether he will face very difficult conditions again. However, Jai Opetaia seems to have jumped to a higher level, knocking out two more rivals - Elis Zorro and Jordan Thompson in a very easy and pleasant way. The key to understanding this fight is the question of Briedis' disposition - which of course we don't know because it would be too easy. The voices coming from the Latvian's camp, as well as shots from the weigh-in and training media allow us to believe that his form may be quite solid. In addition, what was mentioned at the beginning - he knows how to play a dirty game. That's why I assume that the fight here will last the full distance and may be exciting after all, not just for one goal. But in the end, I think that Opetaia, who is 10 years younger than me, will win by a decisive decision.
