Nadia has been on fire this year with an outstanding 43-7 overall record while her opponent Begu has a 23-10 record. I believe the oddsmaker has Nadia as the underdog because she doesn't have much experience playing on indoor hard courts, having only played 3 games in total throughout her career with a 2-1 record. Begu has an overall indoor hard record of 28-23, which isn't impressive enough to warrant her as the favorite against an in form Nadia. One thing that stood out to me is Nadia's performance recently in the French Open where she reached the semi finals before losing to Iga Swiatek. In that event, she won against ranked 5 Elina Svitolina in straight sets and ranked 28 Yulia Putintseva. Although that performance was on clay, and despite not having played much on indoor hard courts, she holds an impressive outdoor hard record of 18-3 this year. She's been on an absolute roll this year and although she doesn't have much experience on indoor hard courts, I believe her spectacular performance will continue regardless of what court condition she plays in.
