Badosa is having a solid season so far, especially on clay. 7-1 so far on the season, with her only loss coming in a Final in Charleston vs Kudermetova. Before that she put away Barty 6-4, 6-3. She is very comfortable on clay whereas Bencic is not.
Bencic is 4-2 on Clay on the season with 3 of those wins coming in this current Tourney, 1 by Retire, and then 1 in different tourney qualifiers so take it with a grain of salt. She has had a rough couple years on Clay because of injuries and seems to finally be healthy, so she says.
Badosa owns the H2H 1-0 winning on clay in 3 sets, 6-2, 6-7, 6-1. Badosa was up 5-3 2nd set but threw it away a couple times. That was 1 month ago. My only worry is Badosa has played two 3 set matches leading up to this and Bencic got a nice 1.5 set retire win. Time on court is about the same though so I'm not too scared of her endurance.
This is Badosa's Home Turf Tourney and will continue to play off that energy. Bencic might steal another set but I see Badosa winning this in 2 this time.
