Valencia enters this match winless in their last five. They did not win a single game in April. They drew three and lost two HOWEVER they are undefeated in their last 5 at home.
With Valencia not being completely out of danger in regards to relegation AND with three matches to play against the teams right behind them...it seems like a weird spot to back Valencia, but then you realize Barcelona's struggles, which have plagued them all season, reared their ugly head in their midweek clash with Granada.
Barcelona took the lead in the first half and would go onto lose at home to Granada in a shocking result.
Valencia took the lead against Barcelona in the reverse fixture, lost that lead and trailed before they equalized and held on for a point.
With Valencia's strong home form I think they have a great chance to not only enter the homestretch of the season in style, but possibly play massive spoiler by getting Barcelona to drop points as they try and keep pace in the crazy race for the title.
League leaders Atletico Madrid and current 2nd place team Real Madrid both won their matches on Saturday. On Sunday, Barcelona & Sevilla, respectively 3rd and 4th in the league, attempt to replicate the Madrid sides' results.
Did I mention Valencia will also face Sevilla before season's end? Yeah, Valencia has a very interesting set of matches to end the season and it wouldn't be Valencia if they didn't play to the level of their opposition.
I have Valencia stealing a point here, but we will be on +1.5 for safety.
