[Boxing- Monte Carlo] 11.4/ 21:00 J.Guzman- A.Ramla
This is a rematch, after the pair met in June this year, where Ramla Ali was badly knocked out. Guzman should be fighting for a world title now but I’m guessing there’s more money in this rematch. Ramla was quite a popular prospect for Matchroom, but was more of a pr stunt due to her background. In the first fight she fought how she does in every fight, slightly on the backfoot but exchanges wildly and took shots off a very heavy puncher in Guzman. From the first round Guzman was easily landing her right hand and it was obvious the power was troubling Ramla. Guzman went on to drop Ramla multiple times and stop her.
In my opinion this fight will go exactly the same way. The only argument people seem to have for Ramla is in this fight she will be on the backfoot and be way more defensive. However I just don’t think she has that in her repertoire. If you watch just her fight previous to the first Guzman fight she outpointed Avril Mathie, but in every exchange she had, she was hit flush by Mathie. I think Guzman will get to her too easy again and we’ll likely see another stoppage. As well as the fact that I don’t think she can change her game up much to deal with Guzman, I also believe that ko defeat could have affected her quite badly. Her face was marked up at the end of the fight and she took some serious punishment, so you have to question how she’ll react to punches this time.
