Torino is currently ranked 9th in Serie A and is in adequate form (2W1D2L in the last 5 games). Torino has won three of their last 5 home games, as many as they did in their previous 14. They have started the new year fairly strong and I expect their good form to continue. Their defense is strong and with only 23 goals conceded, only the likes of Napoli, Juventus, Lazio, and Roma have better defensive stats.

Cremonese is currently ranked 20th in Serie A and is in terrible form (1D4L in the last 5 games). Still awaiting their first win of the Serie A season, this side is likely to be relegated. In addition, Cremonese has only scored 15 times in 22 league appearances, an incredibly poor stat. Following a loss to Napoli last week, Cremonese has failed to score in six of their last nine league appearances.

Given the stats, I see this game as ending 1-0 or 2-0 in Torino's favor. Cremonese has incredibly poor attacking returns and with Torino being so strong defensively, this should be a straightforward win for the hosts. Torino has also won their last five Serie A matches against newly promoted teams and is unbeaten in 10 of their 13 Serie A matches against Cremonese. Given the history, I am backing Torino to come out on top.
