[Tennis- WTA Adelaide] 5.1/ 5:30 V.Azarenka- Q.Zheng
This one is for the hungry ones, the ones who show up to the thread right when it opens because they are just so eager to know the picks and want to place their bets. This one starts in a couple of hours so the late comers are going to miss out, if the pick misses they'll be the fortunate ones, hehe. This one is also for our WTA fallen legend, Ace, let's cash this one for Ace! I don't know why I feel the need to apologize when my writeups are brief but I do and this is a quick one.
Both players are close in rankings, 33 year old and former #1 Victoria Azarenka (#26) against 20 year old up and comer Qinwen Zheng (#28th). Both players are strong on the hard courts (Azarenka 18-9 in 2022, Zheng 27-12) but I rate Zheng a bit higher here and I think she could be in line for a breakout this season with the weapons she possesses. She defeated a number of name players in the later hard court season last year (look it up, no time bro) and just in the first round managed to beat 17th ranked Anett Kontaveit in a 3 set thriller.
If you tail, buckle up, WTA tennis can get pretty wild. I believe this is only the 3rd women's tennis pick I've done, I'm 1-1 on them. I was going to do Man City ML but have a feeling that will be picked a lot already so all aboard this rollercoaster.
