[Football- Belgium 'Jupiler League'] 27.12/ 20:45 Anderlecht- Cercle Brugge

Anderlecht in excellent form (5-3-0 in the last eight league games). Particularly strong at home at Lotto Park, where they are still undefeated this season (with an impressive game record of 8-1-0). The Purple & White may never reach the level they once did, but this season we are witnessing a significant improvement in Anderlecht's play compared to what has not been seen for a very long time. Danish coach Brian Remer's team is second in the table after nineteen games, although it is far from Royale Union SG (nine points behind), which has completely dominated the Jupiler Pro League this season. Defense pillar (and team captain) Jan Vertonghen is complaining about an injury and his performance today is questionable. The good news for Brian Remer is the return to the pitch after a suspension for the yellow cards of key central defender Zeno Debasta. The Violets will be led to victory by the young and highly talented central midfielder Theo Leoni (author of the last league victory against Genk 2:1).
Cercle Brugge is in the Belgian top division for the sixth season in a row, although it has most often ended up in the lower parts of the table. However, last season, the players of Austrian coach Miron Muslic made a big step forward and took eighth place in the ranking. It is similar this season, as they are currently seventh in the table. The team from Bruges starts today's match with two wins in a row (away Leuven 2-1 and home Kortrijk 3-0). Portuguese midfielder Leonardo Lopes and Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis will miss the match due to injuries. Young central defender Christiaan Ravych is also complaining about an injury (he did not play in the last two matches) and his play is questionable. Lithuanian center back Edgaras Utkus returns to the pitch after a break for cards.
Two teams that are having a very good season so far and that have made significant progress recently. However, I rate Anderlecht higher. Especially since he will play at home, where he is extremely strong this season. Moreover, Anderlecht boasts impressive statistics in home games against today's rival (twelve wins in the last thirteen matches). And today it should be no different.
