This is Billam-Smiths first defence of his cruiserweight title after winning it in possibly the most ugly world title fight of all time against Okolie. Masternak is a veteran at 36 years of age, with a record of 47-5-0. He’s never won a world title in his career and this goes to show just how poor the cruiserweight division is right now with Masternak even having a world title shot at 36. He’s not fought in over a year and since his last loss in 2018 to Dorticos, he’s fought absolute nobodies. Masternak has only been stopped once but he has took a lot of punishment. Billam-Smith is nearly always involved in good fights, even when he fights lower level opponents he ends up getting buzzed during the fights. He’s only lost once to Richard Riakporhe but since that fight has beat all the British level fighters he’s faced.

The main reasons why I think this fight doesn’t go the distance:
Their styles in my opinion will match nicely and they both will want to trade with one another leading to a lot of clean shots landing.
They both have decent power, in particular Billam-Smith who I think has underrated power, he also scored a ko of the year contender at the end of last year.
Both quite open especially Billam-Smith who gets hurt in a lot of his fights even against weaker opposition.

At 36 I do wonder just how Masternak will be able to take Billam-Smiths shots for 12 rounds. That’s also after facing such low level opponents for the past 5 years.

Overall I think this could be a really exciting fight, but with one man getting stopped at the end of it.
