[Football- England 'Premier League'] 27.8/ 17:30 Newcastle United- FC Liverpool
Great hit last pick again on a really bizarre match, Nottingham scored twice within the first six minutes but lose 3-2, still a win though. Six win streak, on the road to a ten win streak
Today i’m going with Liverpool to get a result in Newcastle. Some in this thread are riding with Newcastle ML but I have a few reasons why i think Liverpool will make this game very very close.
First of all, Liverpool have a very favorable record against the Magpies, having won or drawn all 10 of the last 10 meetings between them, winning all but two games. Eddie Howe has also only bested Klopp once, Klopp has beaten him 12 times.
Yes, with new Saudi money and great transfers Newcastle look like one of the teams to be favorites for top 4. However they looked very underwhelming against Man City and could not get their attack going. While they play better at home, Liverpool also have a very nice record at St. James Park.
The main issue with Liverpool is their defense. However, I expect their new signing Endo to start this game and he is an incredibly experienced defensive midfielder. The odds have also dropped against a Liverpool because Konate is out, but I expect Joe Gomez to come in and put in a good performance. The reason i say this is because Newcastle tend to hit on the counter, and Gomez is rapid, and in general this will be a huge game for him if he starts as he’ll look to prove that he belongs near the starting 11. Good chance Matip starts next to VVD who is also a very capable CB, especially with Endo for support.
Liverpool’s front 4 have been firing on all fronts and I expect them to grab some goals here. Look out for Diaz, Salah, and Jota to be on the scoresheet.
