Hey all! Back at it today after a fairly sweat free win yesterday. Salernitana went up 1-0 and 2-1 before conceding the equalizer in both instances and settling for the 2-2 draw. Being on +2 (or +1.5 depending on the book), we were never really in any danger.
For today’s pick we’re going to La Liga for Celta Vigo vs Girona FC. Celta are the hosts and are 4 points clear of the relegation drop. Girona is in 8th place and two points from qualifying for La Liga’s final European spot in 7th place. This means both teams will be incentivized to go for a positive result as a draw doesn’t quite help matters for either team.
With that said, we’re going to go with 8+ total combined shots on target. FanDuel is currently offering this at -155. With both teams chasing a result, we should see an open game. In the event a team jumps out to a lead, it’s safe to assume the other team will throw caution to the wind which will result in the goalies being peppered with shots.
From a statistical standpoint, looking at the form of both of these teams, Girona have found the back of the net in 8 out their last 10 games, averaging 4.4 shots on target per game in that span.
