There are two big reasons im making this my POTD. Their names are Frenkie De Jong and Pedri. These two are the creative engine behind the barcelona attack. The team plays completely differently when they are on the pitch. They open the game up with their vision and passing, being able to send balls in behind the defense or between defensive lines in the final third unlike anyone else in the squad. Without these two Barca went on a months long goal drought barely able to break down even the poorest la liga defenses. Ousmane dembele has also been practicing lately and might make a 20min cameo at the end of the game, this isnt a huge factor but he definitely brings the juice when he is on his game.
Rayo dont score much, they are bottom half of the league in xG, and 2nd to last in big chances created. On top of that barca is having a historic defensive performance only giving up 9 goals over 30 games. A cleansheet is certainly on the table, although sergio busquets has a card accumulation suspension so barca may play a less controlled style of football than normal. Theres a solid chance Barca may only need one goal to cash this bet for us and i love those chances.
