[Hockey- World Cup U20] 30.12/ 17:00 Slovakia U20-Latvia U20
The Canadian game was a little bit tighter than we would’ve liked at first but we’re back to winning if you weren’t (understandably) scared away from that massive spread. Feel bad for Austria but they’re just completely outmatched at this tournament. And shoutout anyone that grabbed it at 9.5 & 10.5 too
Only two games tomorrow and we’re gonna go with Slovakia on the puck line. This should be a very tight game but I like Slovakia a little bit more on a day’s rest. They’re riding a high after beating USA the other day while Latvia is still looking for their first win of the tournament. I believe the Slovaks are a better team than Finland, who just beat Latvia 3-0 today. Take Andrisik out of game 1 and that’s an entirely different game for them.
Either way, the Latvians keep games close, they play a very structured game, have high motors and some skill to complement it. Nothing about this game screams blowout but I do like Slovakia to pull away at some point. They’re more talented in every zone of the game which is why I’ll be taking them to cover tomorrow in a must-win game that could help them fight for 3rd in the group while staying out of the relegation round.
