[Tennis- ATP Bastad] 14.7/ 15:30 D.Thiem- R.Bautista Agut

Former rank 3 in the world and US Open winner Dominic Thiem might seem like a huge nightmare to be betting on with his current form but he still has the qualities that he once showed us in many occasions and at the age of 28 all he needs is to become mentally composed to comeback to the big stage. He is good in Hard and Clay but this last one is by far his best surface since he has a 71% winrate over 204 Clay court matches. I was really happy that he finally won an ATP match after so much time against Ruusuvuori on the last round where he showed some great tennis. I would say that Thiem's power and foot speed are two of his biggest assets and he's able to push his opponents off the court with both his forehand and one handed backhand. At this surface I think he's just better than Bautista Agut

Agut is mostly a fast surface player with great results in Hard and Grass. He was a promissing player to make a great campaign at Wimbledon but he left on his 2nd round due to COVID and this is one of the reasons that I'm betting against him because most of the players who return after COVID are kinda messy on their first match...The spaniard has a decent all-around game. He uses his forehand quite offensively and uses his quick movement and consistency in long rallies. He hits really flat from both sides but his lack of variety in his game can be considered a weakness. He pretty much uses no spin on his groundstrokes which is not a good thing on a surface like Clay and I wouldn't be surprised to see Thiem winning this match

Ranking wise I know it seems weird to back Thiem here but I believe that after his important victory on the 1st round he should be able to bring some confidence into the court and display his best tennis. Agut comes from Grass and had COVID so he should be a bit slow on the 1st set which should give Thiem great chances to win at least one set.
