There's no doubt that Novak Djokovic is slowly getting back to his form and demanding himself to go to 3 sets and play some distance games to get prepared for grand slam type scenarios and here he faces Gael Monfils who never managed to beat Djokovic but I think the french can make this match go to distance with 2 long sets or even 3 sets.

If we look at recent performances from Novak we can see that he went over 22.5 games in his last 6 matches and I'm sure he's still not 100% on his best form. Gael Monfils is a great player even if he's past his prime and on the first few rounds of a tournament he can always pull up a great fight with his skills and energetic playstyle so here I'm expecting Djokovic to win but not so easily as the market is expecting. The people of Madrid should also support Monfils a bit more.
