[Football- Montenegro '1st League'] 25.5/ 18:00 Mornar- FK Buducnost Podgorica

Nevertheless, today we’re locking in on Montenegrin Premier League Soccer (bet you didn’t expect to see that when you came to this thread).

It’s the last day of the season and FK Buducnost and FK Sutjeska are tied at the top of the table with 67 points. These two teams have basically dominated the league and traded championships for the last several years but even historically before that, these two teams were the most prominent teams from Montenegro during the existence of the Yugoslav League. Realistically, it was always going to be these two here at the end of the season.

With that in mind, FK Buducnost and Sutjeska played 4 times this season with Buducnost winning twice and the other two games ending in draws. That means Buducnost took 8 points from the encounters while Sutjeska took 2. In the Montenegrin league, this is the tiebreaker. Meaning despite having the same amount of points and Sutjeska having a higher Goal Differential, Buducnost controls their own fate.

Which brings us to the actual games at hand tomorrow. Buducnost is playing Mornar, a team sitting in 6th (out of 10) and not completely safe from relegation yet - meaning they won’t necessarily roll over. They’ve played three times this year, with Buducnost winning 2-0, 2-1, and 2-0. The goal scored in the 2-1 game was actually also an own goal, so Mornar has not actually scored a goal in any of their matchups this season. Furthermore, Mornar has only scored 9 total goals in the entirety of their last 12 games with only a single game being multiple goals (a 2-0 win against a team facing relegation as things stand). Buducnost, as you would expect, has been scoring goals in bunches and despite a bit of bad form recently will continue to do so again in a game where they win the league with a 3 point result.

Lastly, FK Sutjeska are playing FK Arsenal Tivat, the team in third place in the league. They have nothing to play for as neither a win or loss impacts them. This potential lack of motivation could lead to Sutjeska (with a +40 GD and statistically the best attack in the league this year) putting a bunch of goals past them. Oddsmakers believe the same seeing as though the Sutjeska ML is -280. Aside from this, obviously Sutjeska needs to get some sort of result to have a shot at winning the league so they will be playing for a result from the first whistle.

In conclusion, FK Buducnost needs the result. FK Sutjeska needs the result. Both teams will certainly be hunting all 3 points and I think both will get it which will result in Buducnost becoming champions. This is certainly a spot play given the situation at hand. Other bets to consider (won’t be playing these myself but I believe there’s potential value, up to you all):

Both Teams to Score - “No” in the Buducnost game. This is currently -108 on FD. As I noted, Mornar hasn’t actually scored aside from an Own Goal in three meetings this year.

Buducnost Double Chance parlayed with Sutjeska ML @ -145. If Buducnost somehow fumble this opportunity and draw while Sutjeska wins, this would cash.
