[Boxing- France] 11.3/ 21:00 D.Azeez- T. Faure

This is a bit of a showcase fight for Dan Azeez, to show France and also I’m assuming it’s broadcast in the US but also the world, one of BOXXER’s (promotional outfit) best current fighters. Azeez has swept through British competition and is ready for a step up, Faure is not that step up but more of a tune up before the step up fight. The rumour mill looks to hint towards a potential Buatsi vs Azeez fight and I’m guessing that will happen in the summer if Azeez gets through this fight.

Faure is pretty terrible, he’s 21-4-1, he only has 2 ko’s in those wins so there’s no power to worry about. He has pretty poor defence, has been stopped by a journeyman before and has fought very poor opposition his entire career. He’s currently just coming off a win in a rematch against a 27-10-2 journeyman who he drew with the first time. It’s also worth noting the quality in Britains light heavyweight division is much stronger than France’s, so the journeyman that Faure went life and death with, would likely get eaten alive by most British level light heavyweights. Azeez, although he in my eyes won’t ever make world level, he is a very good British level fighter and has been fighting way better fighters than the Frenchman.

Ability wise it’s clear that Azeez comes out on top in every department. He has a terrific engine, really good inside game, throws good body shots and carries a strong jab. I can’t lie there’s not much to write home about when it comes to Faure’s attributes. Faure’s only stoppage loss came against a journeyman who fought Faure on the inside the whole fight and beat him up pretty bad. Azeez will fight him the same way, but is an even stronger inside fighter. Faure has only fought once in the last year and a half, which will also likely be a negative factor for him coming into this fight.

Azeez has so much momentum right now and will know with a win here he’ll be getting a big fight next. He is so much better than Faure and if we’re being honest this is Azeez’s easiest opponent for a long time. I believe he’ll put a beating on Faure straight away and you’ll see early on the levels between them. I think Azeez will get this done in under 7.5 rounds.
