[Football- France 'Ligue 1'] 5.3/ 15:00 Reims- Ajaccio
Time for a win and I’m heading back to France where I expect Reims to get the job done against an awful Ajaccio. This bet is partly because Reims are a solid outfit, but also because Ajaccio are very ordinary.
Reims are 10th with a 8-13-4 record, and have been a bit of a surprise packet under one of the youngest managers in Europe. They are very disciplined and have frustrated a number of teams with more talent on their books, but they’ve also dominated ordinary teams when the opportunity exists, particularly at home. They are 6-4-2 at home, and have won their last 3 league games on home soil 3-0, 4-0 and 4-2.
Ajaccio are 17th with a 6-3-16 record and sit in the relegation zone. Their goal ratio of 20:46 makes them the worst offensive side, and 4th worst defensively. While Ajaccio did win their last league game against 19th placed Troyes, they have been putrid away from home with a 3-2-8 record. In their last 5 games, they lost 4 of them with a total of 1:17 goals. They did beat the bottom team 2-1 but that doesn’t count for much as they’ve lost to everyone.
Reims are a really solid unit and play to their strengths, with a sturdy defence. Taking on Ajaccio who’ve barely scored all season and struggled mightily away from home, I expect to see Reims to win comfortably.
