Time to get the streak going again and I’m going back to trusty Middlesbrough who have delivered value over recent weeks/months.

Middlesbrough have won their last 4 straight by 2+ goals, and won 12 of their last 15 to surge up to 3rd on the league table. They’re coming off a huge win away from against 2nd places Sheffield United to close the gap to one of the automatic promotion spots, and they’re forwards are firing with lots of goal scoring options doing the damage. They have a healthy squad for this game.

They now return to home where they’ve won 5 straight league games - the last time they failed to win at home (in the league) was back on November 6th. Their opponents, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), are basically displaying the opposite form to Middlesbrough. In their last 10 competitive matches they’ve gone 0-5-5, with their last win coming back in mid-December. They’ve dropped back to 17th and stuck in mid-table mediocrity with little chance of promotion but not in any rea danger of relegation either.

While Middlesbrough are in far better form and have everything to play for, it’s worth noting that in their last 7 H2H match ups, QPR have won 4 and drawn 3. In the reverse fixture in April, QPR won at home 3-2, but that was the second game of the season and things have changed significantly since then. Middlesbrough should be able to continue their hot run of form in front of a fired up home crowd and win comfortably, or at least get the push if they only win by 1.
