[Tennis- WTA French Open] 25.5/ 11:00 A.Sasnovich- R.Raducanu
Emma Raducanu was in a world of trouble when she faced 17-year-old qualifier Linda Noskova to start her Paris debut. The Brit, playing her first match since the Rome retirement, was pushed to a set and break deficit but raced past the finish line, 6-7, 7-5, 6-1, in two hours and 37 minutes
Aliaksandra Sasnovich picked up her first major win of the year after defeating Wang Xinyu, 6-4, 6-1. She dominated the 82-minute affair, creating 11 breakpoints and converting five. It was her seventh scalp in this clay swing, having made the second rounds in Rome and Strasbourg as a qualifier.
She has reached the third round of every major except this one. In Paris, she is 0-4 in last-64 matches, including losing to local player Caroline Garcia in 2020 and compatriot Aryna Sabalenka in 2021. Having scored 22 wins in the season, she is looking forward to another renewed attempt.
