[Football- England 'Premier League'] 19.2/ 21:00 Everton - Crystal Palace

Everton is currently 18th place, only having won 1 game in their last 10, now hold on, don’t leave just yet as this doesn’t paint the full picture. Everton was docked 10 points earlier this season due to financial fair play rules being breached, they would be in 12th place if this hadn’t happened.

However now they are facing a relegation battle and a win against Crystal Palace will make them climb back to safety.

In these past 10 games they have faced Manchester City and Tottenham 2 times each, as well as Aston Villa, 3 current powerhouses of the English Premier League compared to the bottom half teams. Their only win in these past 10 games has come against Crystal Palace who they faced twice, one draw and one win.

Crystal Palace’s coach Roy Hodgson collapsed and fell ill on Friday, he was already planning on being fired before it happened due to Crystal Palace’s poor run of form. The new coach was appointed hours after his collapse (they claim it was coincidental as it was already planned before the collapse, but it has left a poor taste in a lot of Crystal Palace fans)

Crystal Palace will be without their team's most potent attacking player, with Michael Olise nursing a long-term hamstring injury - though key duo Eberechi Eze (hamstring) and Marc Guehi (knee) are close to returns, but will be unavailable for this game. Cheick Doucoure (knee) is also unavailable.

Everton has been undefeated in its last 6 meetings against Crystal Palace, at Home they boast an even better record having lost only one out of their last 10 meetings at Goodison Park.

While Everton aren’t in the greatest of form, I believe they have an edge in this game, as they’re playing at home and desperately need a result to climb out of relegation and they are currently not surrounded by all the drama that Crystal Palace is dealing with.

I believe Crystal Palace’s current situation with Roy Hodgson collapsing during training and then a new coach being appointed does not benefit them at all as they will not be 100% focused on the game nor does the new coach have ample time to prepare tactically for this game and get his message across to the players.

I believe it’ll be a low scoring game but in the end Everton should come out on top.
