Excelsior just are the team of higher quality in this match. They spent 2014 until 2019 in the Eredivisie, after which they got relegated to the Eerste Divisie. Last year they placed 7th and I expect them to contest for playoffs again this year as their attack has been really solid this year. They had a bit of a slow start but these last four games they have not conceded a single goal, with opponents being around the skill level of TOP Oss. Excelsior has the current top goalscorer of the league in their team, in the name of Elias Mar Omarsson, who has 10 goals in 10 matches. In Excelsior’s last 5 matches this guy scored 5 goals and what sticks out to me is that Omarsson really likes to score against lower-skilled/positioned teams, which TOP Oss are one of.
To give some more info on TOP Oss, they are currently sitting at 17th place in the league with 8 points and 8 goals. They got most of these against teams who are positioned under them though; 6 out of 8 points and 4 out of 8 goals have come from their wins against Helmond Sport and FC Dordrecht. They just have not been able to reproduce this play against other teams, with them at most getting a draw. Lastly, this team has played four away games, from which they lost three (all 3-0) and drew one game, which gives me more confidence in this bet.
