Gillingham in the middle of the English League One standings, but still with odds for the Championship (7 points behind 6th place). The away game against Lincoln scheduled for this week was postponed and "The Gills" were given extra rest. The last league match was an away win against the higher ranked Accrington 1: 0. Defensive midfielder Callum Slattery made his debut in this meeting and this is the third player on loan by the end of the season from S'ton. Two midfielders Olly Lee and Kyle Dempsey are complaining of resentment after the match against Accrington Stanley and their game is in question.
Rochdale has had some problems with the absenteeism of key players recently and this had a negative effect on the results (only one win in the last eight league games). Forward Jake Beesley was injured against Doncaster Rovers and will play today.
Gillingham beat the Rochdale 4-1 at their facility in mid-December last year. And today he has a good chance of winning again.
