Incredibly interesting odds for the fight from tomorrow's gala in London, I am surprised that Aloys Youmbi is considered a close to 100% favorite - especially since all bookmakers have this fight in their offer (probably copying after Bet365). Of course, Youmbi is a local fighter, which is always a very big handicap with a record of 7 wins and 1 loss and this is a guy who is barely 22 years old. It is also worth noting that all the wins were ahead of schedule, but it is worth considering this one defeat that Michał Soczyński dealt him in his debut. In a fight full of chaos, the Pole received a decision after only 4 rounds. And this also proves that Youmbi is definitely not material for any prospect, he is a typical power hitter. That is why the ratings for this fight of Oronzo Birardi, a German of Italian descent, are somewhat incomprehensible to me. It is not like the representative of the hosts gets a boxer with a record of 8-0 scored on waiters as an opponent, Birardi has a very solid foundation from amateur rings where out of 140 fights he won 130, was a multiple German champion and the European Junior Champion in 2015. Interestingly, he is the first German signed by Frank Warren's Queensberry group. He trains in a solid group in Magdeburg with Dirk Dzemski and in the recent past he was, among others, a sparring partner of Maris Briedis when he was preparing for the fight with Opetaia. It is safe to say that (despite being only 3 years older than Aloys) he beats his rival with experience, where interestingly the Briton has never made it past the 4th round - and here we have a fight over a distance of 10 rounds and the IBO Continental belt at stake, so probably 3 judges. So maybe I'm leaning a bit too far, but this type of fight can actually have 2 courses: either the local favorite simply shoots his opponent in the initial phase of the fight or he will simply be weaker with each passing minute and in the end, over such a long distance he should lose it. Well, the third option is some kind of a drawn-out draw, which also cannot be ruled out. In any case, since Birardi is also in the Queensberry group, he does not have to be a typical 'B-side' here and in my opinion he has his chances, in fact much higher than the odds suggest.
