[Boxing- UK] 17.7/ 23:00 D.McCann- I.Baluta

Dennis McCann and Ionut Baluta have some unfinished business. The two met last year in one of the best fights we saw in 2023, a fight whose definitive ending remains to be seen.

The outcome of the first clash and the overall quality of the 9 rounds that had passed made this rematch a necessity. The two fighters went to war and left everything in the ring. Both had their moments and it was hard to pick a winner in real time until the two accidentally clashed their heads.

With McCann's forehead cut from the incident, the referee had to stop the contest. But thanks to the scorecards thus far, the fight was declared a draw, with two judges scoring it 86-86 and one 86-85 in favor of McCann.

Although there is a clear betting favorite, we expect this to be an all-out war and the outcome is unpredictable. Baluta has the technique to win this bout by decision, as long as he can control the distance and protect himself from the endless jabs.

However, ‘The Menace' hasn't taken a single rest day since their fight. He fought an undefeated fighter in March and dominated while Baluta has not fought in almost a year, since their original match. There is a good chance that this downtime will play its part if this fight goes full distance.

We have to side with the young prospect for our McCann vs Baluta prediction. He has improved significantly in the last 12 months and should be able to win this fight. The safe option is to choose the moneyline but if you are okay with taking calculated risks, then the decision market is the more exciting alternative.
