[Boxing- UK] 20.7/ 23:00 S.Dacres- M.Webster
An interesting fight in the UK, a rematch between Solomon Dacres and Michael Webster. Dacres is one of those British heavyweights from whom a lot was expected, maybe not so much that he is put on a par with Frazier Clarke or Fabio Wardley but he is still a boxer in his prime (he will turn 31 in October) with good physical condition, solid background from amateur rings and in particular he is a sparring partner of Joshua and Dubois and recently he also trained with Agit Kabayle who knocked hard to the top by knocking out Makhmudov and Fran Sanchez. Here Solomon's opponent was supposed to be a boxer with similar potential to him - David Adeleye but he withdrew 10 days ago so Webster takes this fight practically 'last minute'. So why is the fight interesting? Because in their first fight in November last year Dacres had a lot of problems, he was deducted a point at the end of the fight (which was not exciting at all) but in the end in a somewhat controversial style he was awarded the victory, not unanimously. Here again I see him winning, because Dacres is simply made for 'bigger fights', at least on the British market - such as the one with Adeleye because let's not kid ourselves that he is very average and will not conquer the heavyweight category. He was in full preparation, compared to the first fight he lost 5 kg so weighing 106 kg he seems to be closer to his natural weight. Webster added 3 kg which is significant because Michael is not a bad boxer, he also has good experience from amateur fights but 2 years ago he fought in the cruiserweight category (just like in his amateur days) so here in 2 years he is at least 20 kg heavier compared to his natural weight. So it's not a classic heavyweight and I don't think it's with a knockout punch, and Dacres also has no punch power, so to sum it up I see a certain Dacres win by decision because he will learn from the first fight and will be faster and more specific and this time he should outscore his opponent without controversy.
