Largely going off recent form for this pick. Osaka seems to be hitting some of the heights we have seen in the past before her long break from Tennis. Although she is not there yet, she is looking better every match she pays. The rankings going into this are a bit skewed following Zhengs good hard court season and Australian Open final. This is only her 2nd tournament of the clay court season and she had to retire injured in her first. She is looking ok in the first two rounds but not great. She is also by no means a clay court specialist. Osaka has looked good in the first 3 rounds of Rome, not dropping a set. She will want to continue her form heading into the French Open next week and I believe she will.
