[Football- France 'Ligue 1'] 28.1/ 15:00 Reims- Nantes
Reims are 6th with a 9-2-7 record and can move into a European place with a win today which the manager has already outlined as main objective of the team this year. They’re not a particularly flashy team but they are well drilled and they beat teams they should beat more often than not. They’ve won two straight league games including an impressive 3-1 away win against 4th placed Monaco. Reims are 5-0-3 at home this season, and their 3 losses all came against teams in the top 4.
Nantes had a solid start to the season but have been in free fall lately. They’ve gone 1-1-7 in their last 9 league matches which has dropped them to 13th on the table, and lost 4 consecutive matches including an embarrassing loss at home to the worst team in the league last week. Nantes are 2-0-6 away from home.
Both teams are missing a handful of first team players due to international duty so that’s a wash, but believe that Reims have more depth and they are expected to field the same team that beat Monaco recently. Both teams are also coming off disappointing losses in the Coupe de France, both teams losing to lower division opposition, but with Reims focused on qualifying for Europe I like them to bounce back here and claim victory.
