Atalanta have had a bit of a rollercoaster year so far, but they are coming off two of their best wins for the season, beating AC Milan 3-2 last weekend at home, and Polish outfit Rakow 4-0 in Europa League action midweek away, so I’m looking for that success to continue against lowly Salernitana.

Atalanta are 8th in the league with a 7-2-6 record. They have won 4/7 home games this season, while drawing against Juventus and losing to Inter and Napoli, so those outcomes are not entirely unexpected. Putting side ethe 3-2 win against AC Milan, they’ve covered the line against weaker opposition winning by 2+ goals against Monza, Cagliari and Genoa.

Salernitana are last in Serie A with a 1-5-9 record. They’ve scored the second least number of goals this season, and conceded the most, so they’re struggling at both ends of the field. They’ve been particularly poor away from home with an 0-2-5 record and a 4:14 goal ratio.

Despite playing mid week, Atalanta left more than half their 1st team back in Italy since qualification had already been guaranteed, so they will be well rested for this one. I typically don’t put much stock in results from previous seasons but noted that Atalanta won this fixture 8-2 last year so hoping that leaves some mental scars on Salernitana as well.
