Ugo Humbert has faced Marcos Giron twice on indoor hard courts, he's won both times. The first time was in 2020 he won in straights, 6-0, 6-1. The last time they faced each other was just last week in Basel. It was a close tilt with Humbert winning in 3 sets and the 3rd decisive set being a tiebreak. He was able to score 2 more wins and made it to the semis but lost to Hubert Hurkacz in a 3rd set tiebreaker. Going to the tournament before in Shanghai, he won 3 matches before going out in the quarters to Andrey Rublev. So he is definitely in form at the moment and for the year on indoor hard courts he has won 11 out of his 16 matches. On top of that, he is a French player so it isn't certain but the home court advantage hopefully could come into play here as well.
