[Football- Spain 'La Liga'] 22.10/ 16:15 Girona- Almeria
Good hit again with Inter, tough first half against an organized Torino team but Inter make easy work of them in the second half. 5 in a row since my last loss let’s keep it going.
So the odds aren’t this one are not amazing, but I actually think a lot of the games to choose from for Sunday are kind of tricky to predict. Juice isn’t great, but it was a good Saturday so I’ll take it easy for this pick, which I think has a pretty low chance of losing. A heads up that this game is in the morning tomorrow, at 10 am ET.
Girona pick it back up after the international break with this home clash against Almeria. Girona have perhaps been the main story of La Lisa this season, sitting in third place with 22 points, 7 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss against league leaders Real Madrid. They’ve won all but one of their home games this season, scoring 9 goals, and will look to get off to a strong start here as the season resumes. They’ll certainly be fired up after Madrid thrashed them 3-0. They play a very attacking, fluid style and Almeria have conceded 11 away goals so far.
Almeria are leaky at the back, and their position in the table has reflected this. They have a measly 3 points, with 0 wins, 3 draws, and 6 defeats. They have conceded 24 goals and just cannot seem to keep the ball out of their net. They are coming off of 3 consecutive defeats away from home, including a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Sevilla and a 3-0 loss to Bilbao. While Girona are carrying some injuries, they are still more than capable of putting up goals here against Almeria at home.
Girona tend to switch between a 4-1-4-1, but really attack in a 3-4-3 formation when they are on the front foot. They work the ball wide and create overloads on the wings, where I think they’ll really hit Almeria. They have been particularly effective at delivering crosses into the box, mainly to their striker Dovbyk, and I think this is what’ll kill Almeria in this match. The players will have full confidence in front of their home fans and will look to keep their place in the top 4 of the league. I have bet on Girona in the past and have had success, so trusting them again here.
