[Boxing- Germany] 21.10/ 21:00 F.Arslan- E.Puhalo

A very interesting fight tonight at the gala in Germany, in Goeppingen, where the WBA Gold cruiserweight belt will be fought by... 53-year-old Firat Arslan against 35-year-old Bosnian Edin Puhalo. Arslan, a German-Turkish boxer, has a colorful history, he made his debut in 1997 (so over 26 years ago!) and during all these years he fought 66 fights (he won 54, lost 9 and drew 3). He is considered a boxing legend by both Germans and Turks and today he will fight his farewell fight in Goeppingen, which is his home. This event has a very high prestige, the Turks have invested a lot of money and strong names from show business and German boxing legends such as Marco Huck and Artur Abraham will be present in the hall. Looking at the age itself, it seems that the odds are set correctly, but I believe in Firat Arslan here. Considering he is 53 years old, he shows that age is 'just a number' and he looks great physically, he says that he is in fantastic shape - he spent a month preparing, among others, in the Turkish mountains. Generally speaking, purely from a boxing perspective, he has really solid skills. Of course, in the record (especially in recent years) there are very weak rivals and the indicator is the fight with the extremely dangerous Kevin Lerena (who is much better than today's rival) from 2020, where Arslan lost early in the 6th round. Up to that point, he hadn't looked that bad, but he was submitted by the corner when he was bombarded with punches, and what's more, he took a lot of punches during the fight, which may indicate a really strong jaw. Arslan was furious at his corner's decision and actually looked capable of fighting. Here, the rival is interesting on paper, because out of 23 fights, Edin Puhalo won 22 ahead of time and barely lost one. So he looks incredibly dangerous, but I have the impression that only in the initial rounds - the record was almost entirely based on waiters whom he knocked out, usually before the 4th round - only 2 of his fights went beyond the 4th round, and in the second one he was outclassed by Dilian Prasovic. This fight from 3 years ago is an interesting indicator because in the second phase of the fight Puhalo collapsed in terms of fitness and was beaten mercilessly until the referee finally took pity on him and gave him up in the 9th round after he had already been counted out several times. It is worth adding that the same Prasović then lost quickly ahead of time to Okolie, Chamberlain and Papin. So it seems to me that Firat Arslan, who, as I mentioned above, is able to absorb blows and go on the defensive, means that you can simply shoot Puhalo and he will simply fall in the second phase of the fight. Another thing is that this fight is a local celebration and in such cases it rarely happens that someone 'spoils' it - and there is no point in kidding yourself that Puhalo would have to knock out Arslan quite quickly. I don't see it, especially since the Germans are famous for their dirty tricks and I won't be surprised if the fight is simply rigged. Of course, I was considering the option of winning Arslan's points at a really great odds because Puhalo is also good at clinching and dirty boxing, but here I have 12 rounds, so ultimately I'm going towards winning ahead of time in the second phase of the fight by the local hero.
