Today I’m looking at a match where I think the odds are well off. I expected this to be around 1.6, but 1.8 is really nice value.
Luton Town host West Ham for their first home game of the season. They have started the beat season very poorly with two heavy losses, one against Brighton (4-1) in the opening match week and the second against Chelsea (3-0). They sit joint bottom of the table. West Ham on the other hand have started the season well, currently occupying second place in the table. They started with a draw against Bournemouth, and then two impressive victories, one against Chelsea (3-1) and Brighton away from home (3-1).
West Ham have been very successful in attack, especially on the counter attack. They've average 23% in possession in the past two games but I've put up 13 shots on target. Luton Town's only goal so far has come from the penalty spot and they've given up 45 shots.
West Ham have made some very impressive signings in the last few weeks including Mohammed Kudus and Edson Álvarez, both from Ajax, Kudus may be on the bench so look out for his impact. Look for a players such as Mikhail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and James Ward Prowse to also impress.
This is one of those games where if you lose the bet you can’t even be too upset. At this odds I think this is a no brainer. I do think this game will actually be closer than most people are expecting, and the home crowd will be really fired up for the first match of the season, but I'm betting that West Ham get the job done here over 90 mins given their recent good form. 1-2 or 1-3 to the Hammers.
