[Boxing- UK] 5.6/ 23:00 D.Dubois- B.Diniu
Heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois (15-1) fights Bogdan Dinu (20-2) in his first fight back since losing to Joe Joyce. Dubois has been written off by many since suffering his first defeat, however I don’t share that same opinion. Dubois has one of the best jabs in boxing and carries devastating power in both hands, he’s also just 23 and has recently started training under Shane McGuigan, who has improved numerous amount of fighters in the past, most notably newly crowned world champion Lawrence Okolie. Dubois has said he’s aiming to make a statement in this fight and I expect him to do just that. All of Dinu’s wins have come against very low opposition, in the two times he’s fought better quality opponents he was stopped in the 4th and 7th round. Another thing to note about both Dinu’s losses is he looked to go down very easy, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to me to see him take a dive in this fight. Dinu also has a weakness to body shots especially when he’s sat on the ropes and this is something I think Dubois will likely exploit. I’m expecting a dominant Dubois performance, where he’ll be landing his jab with ease from the first bell and loading up with big shots early on, stopping Dinu within the first 4 rounds.
