Cilic is a true hard court master. Now, there is no denying his game absolutely nowhere near where it was when he won the US Open and was cruising through tournaments, but he is playing well. He comes off a straight set loss to Dimitrov that was playing the best tennis, arguably of his career, but was definitely competitive in each of the three sets.
Woo comes into the tournament off an opening round defeat in the Australian open, and winning a challenger event in Italy. The Australian open defeat was to kokkinakis and was completely outclassed from the start of the match. Those are two completely different tournaments with different class opponents. Koo is a very promising player with great potential, but if Cilic is dominant on serve, I don't see him keeping up with the more experienced Croatian.
Cilic should be determined and motivated to win this match and will use this tournament as a stepping stone to a successful ATP season.
