[Football- Europa League] 7.3/ 21:00 Freiburg- West Ham

Another meeting between two teams that faced each other in the group stage, West Ham won both games, 1-2 away & 2-0 at home.

Freiburg is 9th in the German League and are coming to this game with a 2-2 Draw in their recent match against Bayern Munich, offensively they really put pressure on Bayern and maybe could’ve even gotten more. Defensively they are leaking goals at the moment, conceding 9 goals in their last 4 games.

West Ham are 7th in the English League, and won 1-3 against Everton away in their most recent game. Overall they’re having a solid season, but the fans hasn’t been happy about the lack of offensive approach, something that seems to have been noticed by the West Ham coach as they’ve scored 7 and conceded 2 in their last 2 games, looking a bit more free flowing.

Freiburg have some injuries, all of them defensive players whilst West Ham have almost a full healthy squad.

I don’t expect neither team to rely on their defence here, as it’s been shaky for both sides. West Ham have conceded 47 goals in 27 matches in the league & Freiburg have conceded 44 in 24 games.

I don’t think West Ham will go on defensive mode here and hope for a 0-0 result for the return fixture at their home ground. Freiburg shouldn’t play it safe by being defensive as they need the win here to get an advantage before playing the 2nd leg away. So I believe and hope for a match with speed and goals. Both sides style of play is expansive and we should see plenty of goalscoring chances be created.
