Monaco lost 5:2 away to PSG, but the scoreline is not telling the truth here. Monaco entered the game strongly and threatened a lot of times with Minamino and Balogan missing very big chances. Generally, their performance was good and mistakes in defence cost them the defeat. They are now in third position and they are excellent at home where they count five wins in six games this season (5-0-1), and they have the second-best attack in the league, after PSG, with 27 goals.
Winger Boadu (7/1) is the only absent for Monaco, all others are long-term ones.
Montpellier played on Wednesday against Clermont (1:1) in the re-match of the suspended fixture that they won 4:2 in October and the federation decided to play again. Montpellier is having a bad month, they stayed for the fourth consecutive match without a win (0-2-2), and they remain low in the standings. They have trouble scoring as they scored just twice in their last four games.
Defenders Sainte-Luce (4/0) & Sylla (9/0) will both miss the game, the same goes for midfielders Ferri (12/0) & Leroy (9/0). Sub-striker Nordin (6/1) will miss due to injury too.
Monaco will be looking for a reaction after the defeat in Paris, and they have a very good chance as Montpellier is troubled at the moment. Monaco to win.
