[Football- England 'Premier League'] 19.9/ 18:45 Young Boys- RB Leipzig

Today I’m rolling with the Champions League and the line that I feel like is the most obvious one for the day. Young Boys welcome Leipzig at the Stadium Wankdorf (lol) for this clash in Group G.

After a close loss to high-flying Bayer Leverkusen, Leipzig have responded really well, winning three straight and scoring 11 goals in the process. They are coming off of a big 3-0 win over Augsburg where they scored 3 goals in the first 30 minutes. Because of the margin, they were able to take off a few key players before the 90 to give them some rest ahead of this matchup. Leipzig are a very powerful side with some serious attacking talent, including Xavi Simons who has been a revelation so far this season since signing from PSV.

Young Boys come into this match also on good form with 3 wins and 2 draws to start their season. They sit second in the table. They are a solid team but I think Leipzig’s are simply better and know that they have to claim three points here if they are to challenge Man City for that first spot in the Group. Another key thing to mention is goal difference is oftentimes huge in the group stages, so if RB start scoring I don’t expect them to let up.

I’m not overthinking this one, this is a match that simply comes down to who’s the better team. Even though Leipzig are missing Orban and Olmo to injury, I still see them claiming all three points. While Young Boys have also started their season well, the Swiss league just doesn’t compare to the intensity of the Bundesliga. I do think this will be closer than people predict given YB’s decent defensive record, but I think Leipzig take this 0-2 or 1-2.
