[Football- Holland 'Eerste Divisie'] 12.3/ 18:45 NEC Nijmegen - Jong PSV

NEC arguably has the best form they’ve had all season currently, standing in 6th place of the Eerste Divisie and winning their past 3 games 1-3, 4-1 and 0-7. I have watched their recent matches and the whole team seems to have found good form, shown by their most recent 7-0 victory, which was NEC’s largest away victory ever recorded (while at the same time having 7 different goal scorers in one game!).

On the other side we have an out-of-form, 18th placed Jong PSV. The PSV youngsters sit near the bottom of the Eerste Divisie table, winning only 2 out of their last 17 matches (2W, 5D, 10L). The stats get even worse when we look at Jong PSV’s away games, in which they’ve lost 5 out of their 6 recent away games, including 5-1 beatings by Roda JC and Cambuur. To top it off they lost 1-0 against 19th placed Dordrecht last tuesday.

Earlier in the season, this fixture ended 1-1. However, since then NEC has found their form while Jong PSV have completely lost theirs. At the same time, Jong PSV have lost arguably their most important player, American midfielder Richard Ledezma to an injury.

All in all, I see an in-form NEC coming off some great high-scoring wins, hungry for some more points to try to get to the top 3 of the Eerste divisie. They’re up against a PSV Youngsters team that can’t seem to find a good form and should not be a problem for NEC today.
